Emsoft
(short for "embedded software") (The Company) is a Hong Kong
based software developer specializing in embedded Linux solutions.
The Company was founded in 2000 and is funded, in part, by the
Hong Kong Government's Information Technology Fund.
Emsoft
Founder, Richard Tseng, is a software veteran with over 20 years'
experience in Silicon Valley and Hong Kong. After receiving
his MBA from UC Berkeley, he went on to specialize in designing
embedded control systems for semiconductor equipment at Applied
Materials and Unix based Information systems at Sun Microsystems.
He has returned to Hong Kong and assembled a team led by former
Silicon Valley and Microsoft engineers. The Linux team was the
first embedded Linux solution provider indigenous to Hong Kong.
The
Company's software is targeted for hand held devices and is
particularly well suited for low power hand held devices that
have unique size, power consumption, and memory requirements
(like Q-Net's "Q-Reader" -see more at: https://linuxdevices.org/linux-e-book-to-launch-in-china/
Last
year the Company won 10 contracts, nine of which were in China.
Linux is quickly becoming the preferred OS in China and it is
widely believed that of all the markets in the world, Linux
will establish its biggest foothold in China. In moving forward
with Q-Net the company hopes to take advantage of the growing
opportunity in China.
